Public Records Act Requests
 

The Colusa County Office of Education provides access to public records in accordance with the California Public Records Act (Government Code §§ 7920–7931).

How to Submit a Public Records Request

Public records requests may be submitted in writing by email or by U.S. mail. To help us process your request efficiently, please provide a clear description of the records you are seeking, including relevant dates, subjects, and any other identifying details.  Requests can be submitted by email to this email address or by post:

Requests do not need to follow a specific format, but must reasonably describe identifiable records. Please include your name and contact information so we may communicate with you regarding your request.

Response Time

In accordance with the California Public Records Act, the Colusa County Office of Education will respond to your request within ten (10) calendar days of receipt to determine whether the request seeks disclosable public records in our possession. In certain circumstances, the response period may be extended as permitted by law.

Copies of records may be subject to direct costs of duplication as allowed by law.

County Board of Education and Local Agency Officials Ethics Training


In accordance with California Government Code § 53235, local agency officials must complete a minimum of two hours of ethics training every two years. The training covers general public service ethics principles and applicable ethics laws.
 

Training Compliance Schedule

  • Board Members were required to complete ethics training in 2025, and every two years thereafter (odd-numbered years).

  • AB 1234 Officials (Superintendent) were required to complete training beginning in 2006, and every two years thereafter (even-numbered years).

  • SB 826 Local Agency Officials are required to complete ethics training beginning in 2026, and every two years thereafter (even-numbered years, consistent with the Superintendent’s schedule).
     

Public Records – Ethics Training Documentation

Records of completion of ethics training are maintained in accordance with Government Code § 53235.2 and are public records. Requests to inspect or obtain copies of ethics training records should be submitted in writing by email to this email address or by post:
