The Facilities & Maintenance Department ensures that all buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The department oversees routine maintenance and repairs, manages grounds upkeep, and ensures heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems operate properly, while also coordinating larger maintenance projects, facility updates, and deferred-maintenance efforts. In addition, custodial staff provide cleaning, sanitation, floor care, and minor repairs to maintain classrooms, offices, common areas, and restrooms, creating a healthy, welcoming environment. The department Director also assists the Superintendent of Schools during Williams Settlement Legislation (2004) visits to CCOE locations and District schools to ensure facilities meet state standards. By maintaining high-quality learning spaces, the Facilities & Maintenance Department directly supports student engagement, well-being, and academic success, providing the foundation for effective teaching and learning.
