Adult Education offers additional course options for adults.
The courses are selected based on needs demonstrated by a comprehensive
survey. A special schedule of classes serves the Inmate Education program
at the Colusa County jail. The Community Based English Tutoring (CBET)
provides supplemental instruction for developing language fluency for parents
and community members who do not speak English.

ESL/Citizenship
Colusa County Office of Education
ESL (English as a Second Language) and US Citizenship Test Preparation
Evening classes are held on Monday through Thursday
(Citizenship/ESL), 6pm-9pm, in the Education Village, Room C-1.
Address: 499 Marguerite St., Room C-1, Williams.
Pre-enrollment is not required, you may sign up on the night of
your first class. These classes are offered free of charge.

English as a Second Language/Civics/Citizenship
This course of instruction is designed to help individuals of limited
English proficiency achieve competence in the English language. The
design and delivery of instruction integrate civics education content with ESL
instruction as well as a separate civics participation program. The
citizenship portion of this course focuses on literacy skills and utilizes
English as a Second Language methodologies as well as other citizenship
materials to prepare students to take and pass the USCIS exams.
Adult Education Inmate Program
This program offers education and vocational training for adult
inmates in correctional facilities. The instruction provided
includes: English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), Life
Skills, Math and General Educational Development (GED).
